Single Carriageway Rides

The requirements for completing Single Carriageway Rides are to complete the ride during the daylight hours of one day and without using any dual carriageways.

The Three Peaks

 

Ride between the three highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon wihin one day. Either start at the bottom of Ben Nevis (Ben Nevis Distillery), visit the bottom of Scafell Pike (Wasdale Head Inn) and finish at the bottom of Snowdon (YHA Pen y Pass) or complete the route the opposite way round.  Attempted by Simon Weir and Clint Smith 2016 but not completed successfully.

Sunrise - Sunset

 

Ride from the easternmost point of Britain - Ness Point, Lowestoft - at sunrise and reach the westernmost point - Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, Ardgour - by sunset on the same day. Completed August 2016 by Robert Roalfe.

High - Low

 

Ride from the lowest road in Britain - Holme Fen, Huntingdon which is 3m below sea level to the highest road in Britain - this is the paved road up Great Dun Fell, near Knock in the Lake District to a radar station - this road is locked and we are trying to ascertain whom to approach to get it unlocked to try this ride.

Marches Ride

 

Ride the length of the England - Wales border, roughly following the line of Offa's Dyke from Prestatyn on the north coast to Chepstow on the south.
